Veterinary care focused on your animal and your needs

Are you looking for an experienced veterinarian who can help with prevention, treatment, and professional advice?

At Vestjyske Dyrlæger, we help dog and cat owners as well as cattle farms. Our veterinary clinic is located in Nørre Nebel, and we also welcome clients from Skjern, Varde, and the surrounding areas. Here, you get personal veterinary care and the close contact that characterizes a privately owned veterinary clinic.

We are a versatile, privately owned practice with both a modern small animal clinic and a mobile farm practice. That means we can help whether your dog needs a routine health check, your cat needs treatment, or you want ongoing health advice for your cattle herd.

The benefits of choosing a privately owned veterinarian

When you choose a privately owned veterinarian, you can get personal advice and a treatment plan tailored to your animal and your needs. At Vestjyske Dyrlæger, you’ll meet professionally dedicated veterinarians with experience in both small animals and cattle.

A privately owned veterinarian focuses on presence, continuity, and close client contact. It’s important to us that you feel well informed and that your animal is examined and treated in a safe and calm setting.

Our staff continuously pursue further training, so each veterinarian can advise you based on up-to-date veterinary knowledge. We explain the examination, the treatment options, and the expected course, so you know what will happen.

If your animal suddenly becomes seriously ill or is injured, you can also get help from an emergency veterinarian. For urgent enquiries, the phone is always open so we can help you assess the situation. Outside normal opening hours, we refer small animal patients to the nearest emergency animal hospital, while we provide on-call cover for production animals ourselves in cooperation with our neighbouring practice.

Treatment and prevention at our veterinary clinic

At our veterinary clinic, we help dogs, cats, and rodents, among others, with preventive check-ups as well as treatment of illnesses and injuries. We have modern facilities with bright rooms, focused on creating a calm and safe environment for both animals and owners.

Regular health checks make it possible to detect changes in your animal’s health before they develop into bigger problems. During the consultation, the veterinarian examines the animal and assesses the need for, for example, vaccination, dental treatment, or further tests.

Vaccination needs depend, among other things, on the animal’s age, lifestyle, previous vaccinations, and any travel plans. Teeth and the oral cavity should also be checked regularly, as tartar, gingivitis, and other dental problems can cause pain and affect the animal’s overall wellbeing.

We also help holiday guests who need veterinary care during their stay. If a pet becomes ill or is injured, you can contact us to have us assess whether an emergency consultation is needed.

Mobile veterinarian for farms

Our mobile farm practice helps farms with advisory agreements, scheduled visits, and urgent veterinary tasks. A mobile veterinarian can, among other things, help with examining and treating individual animals, follow-up on herd health, and a systematic effort across the production.

We have a strong professional foundation in cattle and can advise on, among other things, reproduction, calf health, hoof health, medicine use, and general animal welfare. Our work is based on the conditions and goals of each individual herd.

Through observations, relevant herd data, and dialogue with the farmer, we can identify areas where routines or workflows can beneficially be adjusted. Based on this, concrete goals and an action plan can be developed, which the farmer and the herd veterinarian can follow up on continuously.

On weekdays, urgent farm visits should be booked by phone between 7:00 and 9:00. Visits booked after 9:00 will incur a surcharge. Outside normal opening hours, we are part of an on-call collaboration, so a qualified veterinarian is always ready to help.

Price for treatment and advice

The exact price depends on which examination, treatment, or advisory service you need. On our website, you can find current prices for a range of common services. See our prices here

For examinations where the need for treatment can only be assessed during the consultation, we will inform you about the relevant options. You are also welcome to call after 9:00 on weekdays if you would like more information about the costs of a specific course of treatment.
